Our History

The Northern Virginia Primitive Baptist Church was constituted on Sept. 26, 1975, with 17 members. The church was originally sponsored by the Statesboro PB Church, Statesboro, GA. Four of the charter members remain on the membership roll.

The Church has had five Pastors, Elder Loren Wilson, Elder Hoyt B. Simms, Elder John B. Purser, Elder Emerson Proctor and our present Pastor, Elder Craig Campbell. Elder Craig Campbell holds a Masters of Arts Degree from Covenant Theological Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri.

After meeting in a rented facility and in a renovated residence for twenty years, in September 1996 the Church moved into a new sanctuary on the property located at 9640 Blake Lane, Fairfax, Virginia.

The Church celebrates the diversity of its congregation, which currently includes families from Peru, British Guyana, India, Ghana, Liberia, the Philippines, Korea, and Columbia, as well as families from throughout the United States.

The Church welcomes visitors as we strive to conduct a worship service that is Biblical in content; positive, upbeat and joyful in nature; friendly, affectionate and gracious in spirit; and relational, relevant and reverent in approach.
